Safeguarding

Mission Statement on Safeguarding

CCCGBA fully accepts its legal and moral obligation to exercise its duty of care and to protect children and vulnerable adults participating in it activities and to safeguard their welfare.

We are committed to do this by acknowledging that welfare of the individual is paramount: each individual irrespective of age, gender, religion, race or disability has the right to protection from abuse; each individual has a right to be safe, and to be treated with respect and dignity.

We shall use our best endeavours to ensure that: all allegations of abuse are taken seriously; the response to them is swift and appropriate; the effectiveness of our policy is reviewed regularly; a responsible person shall be Welfare Officer to whom members can address any concerns.

CCCGBA contacts on issues around safeguarding are  Welfare Officer Mrs Denise Noble and Secretary Mr Tony Whitehouse.

CCCGBA Safeguarding Support Pack Posted Feb 2017

Following guidance from the British Crown Green and the BDA in support of Cumbria Clubs I have put together a Safeguarding Club pack which will be posted to you.  I have tried to keep things simple and have bullet pointed the items below which are paper copies in the pack.

Posters to be displayed on Club notice boards

New Policies/Template which need adopting and using are available from http://www.safeguardingbowls.org/downloads.html

Clubs with junior members should have a Club Welfare Officer and share information around Safeguarding with coaches, volunteers, parents and those under 18. This will be done as you complete the Club Action plan for Clubs with juniors.  I intend to arrange 4 Safeguarding workshop evenings over the Season focusing on clubs with Juniors who will be working through their Club Action plans. Please email me if you are one of those clubs who may need wish to attend.
